Appleatchee Riders Association is a private membership organization incorporated in 1947 in Washington State for the purpose of promoting fellowship among horse lovers.  Activities sponsored to support this goal include;  horse shows, dressage, hunter/jumper events, schooling shows, gaming events (timing events), reining, cutting, extreme trail course and team roping events.  Horsemanship clinics to improve member's skills are held regularly.

The Association also sponsors three 4-H clubs, two WAHSET teams (Washington High School Equestrian Teams) a Pony Club, a therapeutic riding program, promotes FFA and other programs. Competitive events include both members and non-members.  Non-members pay a premium to participate in Association sponsored events.

The Association has made extensive investments in physical facilities that include both indoor and outdoor arenas, barns for stabling member's horses, camping facilities, and orchard property.  The goal of the Association is to be self supporting financially.  A twelve member Board of Trustees manage the Association's daily operations and assets.
