Being an equine photographer, I visit it quite a bit, whether it's for a show or for a portrait session for the boarders and their horses. I'm incredibly lucky to live only 10 minutes away from this gorgeous facility.” Jeni Jo Photography - Professional Equine Photographer - "I had a great time sorting. Everyone was very nice and helpful." Shannon CT. "It's a very laid back atmosphere. Everyone it is very nice and very helpful. We look forward to participating every month!" Paula J. "Wonderful facility and friendly people!" Geisha E. "Outstanding show barn but arenas and areas to ride as well. Cattle on grounds for events and they do an outstanding job of grooming to fit your needs!" Kathy W. "We love Appleatchee! Very clean, people are very friendly and so many places to ride." Gabrielle S. "Good People Nice facility with an indoor riding arena" DeEtte P. "I come from the Seattle area and this place is amazing. There's a huge variety of horseman (women) but from what I have seen, we all have the same goal: horsemanship and enjoying our horses. I am lucky to be a part of this facility" Juliane H. "this place is amazing! If you ever visit you HAVE to climb saddle rock. Absolutely stunning views up there. The stables are pretty nice, and you can put horses across from each other so they can see each other and plenty of alleyway space. There is also a really fun obstacle course just past the road that has bleachers for people who want to watch. The obstacle course has some jumps, but still plenty of room for people who don't want to jump. The arenas are very nice and spacey, although the J.S. Sparks arena has only 1 set of bleachers, but the lower one has plenty. If you board there, the horses can go outside in a little mini paddock. Also, there is plenty of room for campers or motorhomes. The outdoor arenas are very nice as well, and the round pen has very tall walls so horses can't jump out. Overall, it's a very nice place you should definitely visit sometime." Hailey B. Reach out to learn more about Appleatchee Riders Thanks for reaching out! • APPLEATCHEE RIDERS QUEEN | Appleatchee Riders

Meet the Appleatchee Riders Queen and learn more about the position Appleatchee Riders Queen Learn more about the current and former Appleatchee Riders Queens Meet the 2024 Appleatchee Riders Queen Miss Izzy Black Hello everyone! My name is Izzy Black. I am so honored to serve as the Miss Appleatchee Riders Queen for 2024. I am the 17 year old daughter of Randy and Jennifer Black. I have three siblings Austin 21, Abby 20, and Isaiah 15. I was born and raised in this wonderful and beautiful place called the Wenatchee Valley. I am currently a senior in high school and finishing up my second year as a Running Start student at Wenatchee Valley College. I will be graduating with my high school diploma and my Associates of Arts degree in June 2024. I plan to attend a four year college in the fall of 2024 to earn a degree in Business Administration and a minor in Hospitality. I have been a member of the Appleatchee Riders Association since 2020 and I have thoroughly enjoyed the hours and hours I have spent in these barns and arenas since then. It truly is like a second home - as much time as I spend on the grounds taking care of and riding my sweet and beautiful 7 year old grulla quarter horse mare, Piper! I have been around Piper since she was 3. When I got her, she was an unbroke 4 year old. She was the very first horse that I actually owned (after care-leasing other horses). She has shaped me into the rider I am today and I know I would be nowhere close to the horsewoman I am without her. We still have so much to learn and I know we will both grow so much this coming season. Growing up, I always had a passion for anything equine related. I wasn't able to experience the true joy of owning my very own horse until I was 15 years old. In middle school I participated in 4-H with two different care-leased horses. I thoroughly enjoyed my time in 4-H! The first two years I showed rabbits and chickens. The second two years I branched out to show both market and dairy goats and horses. I enjoyed competing in showmanship, western pleasure, and trail classes. The fair was always a very busy time and I enjoyed every minute of the competition, the camaraderie with my clubmates, the late nights and early mornings and yes, the hard work! The 2024 season will be my third year competing in WAHSET (Washington State High School Equestrian Team) and this year I am also serving as the President of our WAHSET team. My first year of WAHSET I qualified for state in a team event. This past season, I was able to qualify for state in two individual events. I’m looking forward to this upcoming season to see what Piper and I can accomplish together! I’m so honored to be able to be involved in this wonderful association that I call my second home. Being Queen is a perfect opportunity to help represent and advocate for the amazing organization that Appleatchee is. I’m excited to share Appleatchee with everyone I can! As I look forward to the exciting and busy schedule that I am about to enter, I am thrilled to give back to the facility and its members that have helped to shape me. During my reign I plan to encourage my peers and the younger generation of the importance of agriculture and the equine industries within our valley and in Washington. I am excited to represent this amazing organization in every way possible and I plan to engage with the community through social media and exposure in many events. I am so excited to expand my knowledge of our community, culture, and local agricultural industry. Keep up to date on my reign as Appleatchee Riders Queen through any of my social media pages! And always feel free to reach out to me directly at appleatchee.riders.queen@gmail.com ! I hope to hear from you! In 1973 due to downsizing of the Ellensburg Rodeo, the first Miss Appleatchee princess was crowned. In 1980, for reasons unknown, the pageant ended. Ken Tincher thought it was important to have an ambassador for the club to help promote our facility. In March 2004, a new Miss Appleatchee was chosen. In 2006, the title was changed from Miss Appleatchee to Appleatchee Riders Queen to make the title consistent with all other royalty positions.
